Also works well for sluggish fishing e.g. in cold water. For slow fishing, sift the mash in a fine sieve, for large fish sift the mash in a coarser sieve or not at all. Black color preferred by many anglers. Rudan is a fish that can be easily shocked and back too much that does not feel familiar, then black color on the mash can help the rudan to venture into the mash place. A black mash with a couple of yellow corn grains over the bed sounds pretty tempting, right?
