The competition is simple: it’s all about catching the longest perch, pike, and zander. It’s a team competition where each team must catch one fish of each species to win. The team that collectively achieves the greatest total length of their longest perch, pike, and zander will be declared the winner.

The competition starts at the store in Vårby at Hamnvägen 3 and will be publicly live-streamed on skitfiske.app until 1:00 p.m.; after that, all results will be kept under wraps until the awards ceremony.

Simple!

Rules:

• Fish must be measured with the snout aligned with the 0 mark on the measuring board
• Each team will receive a measuring board with their team number on it, and this number must be clearly visible in the photo.
• The length of the fish must be clearly visible; no blurry photos or ambiguities.
• Millimeters do not count.
• A clamped fin is permitted.
• The entire fish must be visible in the photo.
• All fish count; there is no minimum size requirement.
• Permitted angling methods are spin fishing, vertical jigging, and fly fishing.
• Trolling, bottom fishing, etc., are NOT permitted .
• Live bait is NOT permitted.
• Fish must be reported no later than 30 minutes after being caught.
• Since the longest fish of each species counts, you only need to submit your first catches and then add the longer ones later.
• All teams must be back in the strait outside the storeby 5:00 p.m. at the latest; otherwise, the team will be disqualified. Fish reported after the deadline will not be counted either.
• If multiple teams tie, the longest perch with the highest weight will determine the ranking.
• The competition is run via the skitfiske.app. The app will display live updates, all fish, all teams, etc. This is also where all fish must be photographed and registered.

 

Time and Location:

Saturday, September 26, at 7:30 a.m.

All teams will gather in their boats in the strait outside the store for a captains’ meeting at 7:30 a.m.; the competition starts at 8:00 a.m. Registration and pickup of the measuring board take place at the store, and once you’re done, head back out into the strait to make room for other boats. Since the speed limit inside the strait is 5 knots, all boats will head out beyond the 5-knot limit after the skippers’ meeting and remain there until the lead boat fires the starting gun. All boats must be back at the dock by 5:00 p.m. Teams that have not turned in their measurement boards by 5:00 p.m. will be disqualified. If you withdraw before the end of the race, you must notify the race committee. We from the store will be on the dock with a microphone and speakers so that everyone can hear. Please respect each other and make room for one another as much as possible.

All boats with live transmitters must have removed the transmitter and left it at home. If, contrary to expectations, it is not possible to remove the transmitter, the cables will be disconnected and sealed before the race.
But for everyone’s sake, please make sure to remove the transducer from your boat. We’ll have an inspector down at the dock.

The awards ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m.  

 

Registration:

Register your team with us no later than Friday, September 25. The maximum number of participants per boat/team is 3 people. The maximum number of teams is 60. If 60 teams register, we will only accept registrations for the waiting list. The registration fee is 500 SEK per boat. The fee can be paid on the Stockholms Sportfiskebutik website or directly in-store, or via Swish to 0722080523 (please include your team name in the Swish payment). 

Also register your team on skifiske.app to participate in the competition. Please note that your spot is secured upon payment; teams that have paid will be given priority.

If your team needs to withdraw for any reason, please notify us no later than Monday, September 21. If this occurs after the deadline, the registration fee cannot be refunded. This is so that we can give reserve teams a few days to plan, and because the prize pool is largely based on the registration fees.

More specific information will be sent to the teams as the competition date approaches.

Prizes:

The winning team will receive a challenge cup and a gift card worth 15,000 SEK.
Second and third place will win prizes from the store and sponsors.
There will also be great individual prizes for those who catch the longest perch, pike, and zander, as well as the longest bonus fish.
 
The more teams there are, the better the prizes on the prize table.

On September 25 (the day of the competition), we’ll be offering competition discounts to all participants in the store. 30% off everything!*
To avoid crowds, we’re doing what we’ve done in previous years. You can come in and shop at your leisure the day before (September 25) and get the same discounts.
