Jerk rods

In 2004, jerkbait fishing took Sweden by storm. With 22 pikes over 10 kilos of which 7 over 13 kilos in one weekend, pike fishing history was written. There were 3 people in every single boat and hauled home Buster Jerk and caught lots of pike. Today, jerkbait fishing has stopped a bit, but the method itself is still very effective.

A jerkbait rod is a short, stiff rod that takes baits up to 120-200g. The idea with the rod is to jerk it downwards to control a jerkbait without its own stroke, in this way you get a side-to-side stroke on the bait. Do a few jerks and pause, usually the cut comes right in the pause. The advantage of this fishing is that you can fish in vegetation areas where it is very difficult to fish normally.
