The Cardiff Flugel Flat is a fantastic long-casting minnow-type trout bait that is perfect for open water fishing. It mimics a baitfish and can be fished down to a depth of around 0.5 meters, making it ideal for fish that hunt in the upper water layers. With a smooth weave, the bait has an impressively straight and lifelike action. To really bring it to life, however, you should use jerky movements with short pauses in between. This causes the bait to throw itself irregularly in wide, aggressive movements with each jerk, followed by a nose-up position as it slowly rises towards the surface.
