Booby flies or "bobby flies" as they are also called means that it is a streamer that has two large eyes that are buoyant. The idea with these flies is that it should look like a small fish taking something from the surface. Many people who fish for rainbow trout usually use sinking lines or sinking bombards with this fly behind them. Then the fly floats in the open water and can be deadly effective some days!
