These rods are made by the extremely talented Camp Halibut. We quote: "We don't think there have been any rods on the market that are really good for halibut fishing. We have therefore chosen to develop our own in collaboration with American Tackle. In 2022 we released two different rods. One adapted for baitfish and one adapted for jigging for halibut. Both work deep and bring the weight close to the body so you get a huge lift. You can really apply pressure with both of these blades. But there is a big difference in action." Halibut Jigging XH 200-800g The jigging rod is significantly faster and much more sensitive. There is no flounder rod on the market that can compare. You can clearly feel how the jig swims. The rod responds instantly and you can easily push the hooks in when you counterattack. It is an absolutely fantastic jigging rod that also works great for baitfish. It is these rods that we rent out because they are the most all-round. The Baitfish Deep Power 7XH baitfish rod places slightly greater demands on the user. The action is slow and it works incredibly deep with an enormous force at the bottom. We have tried to lift 20kg with these rods and it does not feel like they have even approached their limit. So you get maximum lifting power and we wouldn't be at all afraid to hook a minnow of up to 1000kg on these. In fact, this is the equipment we would choose if we were to target such large fish when fishing vertically. However, they are not particularly sensitive and can be compared to any sea fishing rod. They're also not great for driving the hooks in. You have to crank the rod down and get the pressure deep down to be able to make a good counter-hook. But when fishing with baitfish, it's no problem at all, you have all the time in the world to prepare and set a counter-hook from the right position. But it requires a little more technique than jigging rods. Many people also fish with circle hooks and this action is optimal.
